SCHOMS 2021 Hosts FLEXspace – Join Us!

Join Lisa and Rebecca at their SCHOMS 21 session – Making Spaces for Education – FLEXspace.org!

FLEXspace.org is both an open education (OER) platform to find best practices, detailed attributes/specifications and a community aligned with the SCHOMS mission to promote excellence in teaching and learning practices and environments. FLEXspace is a resource for AV/IT and Systems Integrators, Facilities and Campus Planners, Learning Designers, Faculty Developers, as well as industry experts to help ideate, benchmark, prioritize, plan, design, and assess learning space projects, ensuring alignment of campus spaces with strategic master plans.

Accessing and uploading content to the FLEXspace repository will be demonstrated, along with guidance on using planning and assessment tools, research findings, and more. Specific instructions on using collaborative features (shared Idea Boards, Toolkits, and curated Galleries) will be highlighted. Finally, presenters will demonstrate a quantitative and qualitative data model that harnesses the power of FLEXspace and the EDUCAUSE Learning Space Rating System (LSRSv3) to support stakeholder engagement and integrated learning space planning.

Presenters:

Dr. Lisa Stephens – Asst. Dean, University at Buffalo – leads the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Office of Online Education. She also serves as Senior Strategist for Academic Innovation at the 64-campus State of New York (SUNY) System and Executive Director of FLEXspace.

Dr. Rebecca Frazee – faculty in Learning Design & Technology at San Diego State University, also serves as FLEXspace Associate Director

And make sure to check out another FLEXspace.org partner at the conference – Wolfvision!
