Offering a variety of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality tools in a flexible learning environment, the Virtual Immersive Teaching and Learning (VITaL) space serves as an incubator to enable experiences that would be impossible or out of reach in a traditional learning environment. The classrooms in the Global and International Studies building were intentionally designed for active learning. This was the first building on the campus where every room was designed for active learning.

The classroom was our first design that incorporated an interactive touch video wall and wireless screen sharing. This classroom was meant to be a showcase classroom in the new University Hall building. We added glass to each side of the classroom to the hall for natural lighting and to showcase the space.
