Fisher Hall

To provide an environment that promotes collaborative/active learning with the standardized control system used throughout the university to allow for professors of all disciplines to successfully teach in a group learning/active classroom space. It has been questioned if we have quantitative data regarding student outcomes. We do not. As the room just completed it's first year of use we are looking into the possibility of beginning to track student comments and instructor data regarding student outcomes within this collaborative space.

College Hall

Faculty like the open, sharing environment this space offers. They are learning to revamp their teaching approach in an active learning space and are working on how to evaluate learning and assessment in this new place. The space has been used for 1.5 semesters and we are looking for assessment tools to better understand how active learning works. This smaller FlexTech classroom provides an intimate setting for classes less than 20 students. The whiteboard spaces and writeable glass top tables add to it's collaborative appeal. Students and faculty like the color and appeal of the classroom.

Daniel O'Connell

This room was built as a dual-purpose dedicated elearning lab (our first on campus). It's two main functions are 1. remote real-time lecture delivery using Polycom HDX-8000 and 2. lecture recording using Camtasia on a Dell XPS 27". The room has 2 x Samsung 88" LCD displays primarily for use with the Polycom system. The XPS 27 is setup with the Polycom to allow content sharing and there is space behind the lecturers desk (photo taken from point of view of seated lecturer) for both the main lecturer and a guest lecturer to be in shot simultaneously.
