Room was designed to be cost effective, simple to use and highly flexible. Seats up to 30. 6 display devices for group collaboration. No front or back of room, no one teacher station. works wirelessly for many many things. Has been a great space for engaged group projects, everything from peer assessment to after hours studying. http://padlet.com/wall/carrollsandbox

Equipped on a shoestring, using re-purposed funiture, flexible tables, etc. Created in response to feedback on Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) that the College needed more spaces for students to work together.

Ideal for large classes, the Collaborative Learning Studio allows students to work in teams at technology-enhanced tables. Students can also share their work on a 20-foot wide video wall, ideal for presenting to large classes.

This room presented a particular challenge since it is located in an aging building that had been slated for replacement. Given this designation, it had not received enhancements or refurbishing for many decades. Over the years it had been used for seminars and music classes, as the warping bulletin boards, chalk boards and soundproofing confirmed.
An undesirable space, it had been left underused by the college.
