The current Pandemic has forced educational institutions into an unexpected situation. Many schools are meeting, planning, and strategizing on how to return to campus for the upcoming fall semester. Major issues are being discussed including: should students physically return to campus? What about social distancing? How do we prepare faculty? Will every class have to be an online class? HyFlex, Hybrid or Online? How do you prepare faculty? How do you leverage technology to make the new normal manageable?

Join the discussion as we explore ideas, proposals, practices of how to optimize the student teaching and learning experience in a pandemic environment & learn how do schools successfully transition into the new normal using technology to meet the current needs of students.

Dr. Miary Andria, Lisa Stephens, Rebecca Frazee, Karl Horvath presenting.

How to Design Engaging Learning Environments in This Digital World
July 23, 10am CT

Join us for a ‘watch party’! This webinar recording will be available at 10 am CT on July 23. The presenters will answer your questions over Twitter using the hashtag #HyFlex  at that time. Click here to register.

There are a lot of unknowns in education right now, but one thing is for sure: students still expect an immersive, engaging learning experience during this new normal of online classes. As institutions strategize about what the fall semester will look like — whether it’s 100 percent virtual, a social-distanced version of face-to-face or, most likely, a hybrid approach – the use of streaming lecture videos will be more relevant than ever. Instructors will need to continue to pre-record video lectures and use class time, wherever that may be, for collaborative discussions.

While the physical locations for these discussions have changed from in person to online, the energy around them doesn’t have to. Join learning design expert Rebecca Frazee, an instructor at San Diego State and manager of FLEXspace.org – Flexibile Learning Environments eXchange – a resource for classroom design ideas, to learn:

  • What the fall semester could look like and tactical tips faculty and instructional designers should know to prepare
  • How to maximize asynchronous lecture videos for the most engaging faculty-student experience
  • Design considerations for a HyFlex teaching model that includes both physical spaces and online learning environments
  • What some of your peers are planning for the fall
